Forthcoming Health, Education and Social Services Committee Letter                                                              
of Intent (page 1856) for SENATE BILL NO. 170 "An Act requiring                                                                 
that health care insurers provide insurance coverage for well-baby

                               Letter of Intent                                                                                
                                                                                                                                
          The Alaska Legislature recognizes the importance of                                                                   
          well baby exams as a routine and necessary part of                                                                    
          preventative pediatric health care. It is the intent of                                                               
          the Legislature that in the consideration of well baby                                                                
          exam coverage, the Division of Retirement and                                                                         
          Benefits remains consistent with its past record of                                                                   
          adopting all state mandated coverages as a part of its                                                                
          standard health care plan for state employees.
